About Our Synagogue

Picture
In 2018, two well established Jewish congregations merged to form a new vibrant center of Jewish living and learning for communities south of Boston. B'nai Tikvah brings together people who share a common interest in learning and growing as Jews and human beings. We are a progressive synagogue that balances the desire for innovation and engagement within the traditions of our heritage.

Based in Canton, MA our membership is a reflection of the full diversity of the Jewish community: youngsters and young-at-heart; single and married adults; some raised locally and others from afar, yet all connected through faith and community. Our services, adult education and social action are designed to meet the needs of all of our members and to strengthen the larger Jewish family of which we are a part.

We are a strong Community: one that is Inspiring, Values Education, and Encourages Personal and Spiritual Growth.

Inspiring – As a community we strive to inspire thoughtful reflection, community development, spiritual journeys, engaging friendships, social action, and a love of learning and exploration of what it is to be a Jew in the 21st century.

Educating – Learning is an opportunity for all of our congregants spanning all ages and includes Religious School, Torah and Trope study, Starbucks Shabbat, Women of Wisdom, Living as a Jew in a non-Jewish world, Jewish Genealogy, and Exploration of Holiday Traditions. Our congregation offers something for everyone.

Growing – Whether in the area of personal, spiritual, relationship or learning growth, at B'nai Tikvah there is a constant fluidity to improve ourselves and our community from where we are to where we want to be. Congregants celebrate the festivals of the Jewish year, the sanctity of Shabbat each week, adult learning opportunities, and life cycle events.

We are proud to boast an outstanding educational team both in our religious school and for family and adult education.

Temple President Natalie Weinberg and a committed group of congregants form our Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Transparency, dialogue, and understanding are critical elements factoring into our decisions.

Our front office is managed by Elissa Gordon. The office strives to meet the needs of the congregation while managing the office and day to day activities of the temple.
