Support the Community Security Service
If there is still any doubt about the need to implement security measures to protect our communities, the horrific events that unfurled in Pittsburgh on October 27 should put an end to that debate. On that Shabbat morning during a brit milah service, rather than welcome the newest link in our chain of generations, the flames of 11 Jewish lives were extinguished. It is time for our community as a whole to realize that this is the new reality for Jews in the US.
For more than 11 years, the founders of CSS- Jewish security professionals, IDF veterans, and US military members- have made the physical protection of Jews by Jews in the United States its top priority. As an apolitical and non-denominational non-profit organization, CSS has trained more than 4,000 volunteers in advanced security techniques, enabling hundreds of thousands to enjoy their Jewish way of life peacefully.
The ADL reported that anti-Semitism spiked 57% between 2016 and 2017, and now in 2018 we witnessed the worst attack perpetrated against our community in the history of this country. All of this is creating a national demand for CSS training and services that far exceed our current operating capacity, which means that communities remain unprotected.
As such, we intend to aggressively grow our operations and infrastructure in all ways. We will expedite the training of a national network of volunteers who help secure their local communities. We are working with our partners, like SCN, to ensure that volunteers will be connected via cutting-edge technology that allows them to be the eyes and ears of the national Jewish community, and an unrivaled resource to law enforcement. CSS National Office will expand to provide basic and advanced training, education and information, and will grow the administrative infrastructure that is required for operating a national network.
However, this can only be accomplished with contributions from the very communities we seek to protect - please donate here. If you would like to provide significant financial support to help CSS achieve our vision, please contact us at info@thecss.org to discuss.
While we cannot cure mankind of the scourge of anti-Semitism, we can protect our communities from it. I welcome the opportunity to meet to discuss how, together, we can protect American Jewry and ensure that no community, large or small, remains vulnerable.
