HIAS (Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society) is the world's largest refugee agency. Originally set up to help Jews facing displacement due to discrimination, today HIAS helps forcibly displaced people around the world while keeping with its Jewish ethical roots.
Learn more about HIAS on Shabbat evening services, February 2nd, on ZOOM, when Social Action//Social Justice committee member, Harriet Burak, will present a brief talk on this vital organization.
Why do we ask for donations of kosher cereal and soup for "Family Table"? Family Table is a part of Jewish Family and Children's services. It fulfills its mission by providing kosher food, creating a caring Jewish connection, and empowering people to make healthy eating a part of their Jewish lives.
