Lunch & Learn with Rabbi Feld
Lunch & Learn with Rabbi Feld starting Wed, Jan 3, 12 pm "Dear Abby" in the Talmud: How did the ancient rabbis understand friendship, romance, parenting, and other important relationships? What wisdom do they have to teach us? What's changed in 1,500 years? This 5-week course will explore: Friends and frenemies, Romance and courtship, Marriage and Parenting. Join us for one, several or all sessions.
On December 17th, B'nai Tikvah's Social Action/Social Justice Committee held a program on the environment. Guest speaker, Andrew Steinberg of JALSA (Jewish Alliance for Law and Social Action) discussed "Jewish Environmentalism & How to Save the Earth." This curriculum is an introduction to Jewish environmental ethics. JALSA puts our Jewish values into action by engaging their allies in pursuit of social, economic, environmental and racial justice.
At B'nai Tikvah, we hold to these above values. Programming from the Social Action/Social Justice committee can include anything from the environment, fighting election fraud, breast and ovarian cancer awareness, helping refugees, and much more. Of course now we are working to help Israel and fighting against the uptik of antisemitism.
On Sunday, Jan 7, 11 am, we will be gathering together to write notes of support and encouragement to the IDF.
