Starting February 28: New Voices: Modern Feminist Midrash In recent years, feminist writers have created a wealth of new stories and poems inspired by biblical and rabbinic texts, bringing fresh insights to our tradition. We will explore a variety of these midrashim in English, discussing how the writers are continuing the midrashic tradition but taking it in new directions. To vote on future courses, please fill out this poll.
The MA Presidential primary is on March 5th. Please remember to vote!
Purim will soon be here. Do you know which of the four Purim Mitzvot directly relates to Social Action? Watch for the answer in next week's Chai Lights ... and how you can help.
Coming this spring.... Jewish Jeopardy.
Phyl Hewson and Linda Leland, Social Action/Social Justice Committee Co-Chairs

Celebrate Purim with a Pot of Gold Raffle We have a wonderful opportunity for you to not only support B'nai Tikvah in its fundraising efforts, but to possibly be the winner of a part of a pot of gold!
We are selling 250 raffle tickets at $50 each. At our Purim celebration on Saturday evening March 23, we will draw "lots" from Haman's hat for 10 winners. The prizes range from $2,000 to $100.
Join the fun – starting at 6 pm - put on your costume, play games, enjoy a light meal, watch the Purim Shpiel, celebrate Havdallah, hear and participate in our interactive Megillah Purim story, and socialize with friends. Prizes will be drawn after Havdallah. You do not need to be present to win.
Tickets can be purchased at the temple in person, by sending in a check to B'nai Tikvah (and reference Purim) at 1301 Washington Street, Canton, MA 02021 or at bnaitikvahma.org. To donate online, go to the Donate tab; under Type there will be a dropdown menu. Choose the Purim raffle option and follow through the donation process. Once you register for the event and input the $50.00 you will have purchased an actual raffle ticket and we will send you a picture of your ticket. One half will be entered into the hat for the drawing and the other portion, sent to you via a picture, will be your ticket.
Tell your family and friends. Great cash prizes will be given to our lucky winners! More info: Howie Cooper 781.910.4801 or Natalie Weinberg 617.694.4674
Our talented gabbais fulfill a number of important roles during Shabbat and holiday services: distributing honors, calling people up to the Torah, coaching honorees who are less familiar with the Torah blessings and choreography, and supporting our Torah readers by following along with the reading and offering gentle correction. We are seeking to train volunteers in these skills; if you have always wanted to be more involved in our prayer services and strengthen your knowledge and confidence, this is a great opportunity.
Volunteers should have solid Hebrew skills and be willing to commit to arriving in the sanctuary by 10:15 am to help the First Gabbai distribute honors on days when you are training or serving. We will provide training, mentorship, and materials for practice/study. If you are interested, please send an email to ritual@bnaitikvahma.org
Thank you to those who have donated to B'nai Tikvah! Donations may be made online or sent directly to the office.
