In the Shadow of Suribachi: Sammy's Story

Sammy Bernstein, a founding member of Temple Beth Am, was a Marine who survived the last Japanese banzai attack on Iwo Jima. Sammy's Story tells of his surprise enlistment in the Marine Corps as a naive, young boy to his transition into a battle-ready Marine on the black sands of Iwo Jima. Sammy passed away in 2015 but his son will be with us to carry on his legacy.

Followed by tea, coffee, and pastries after the film.
