When we think of social justice, we turn to tikkun olam, our shared responsibility to repair the world. Every day is an opportunity to put our values into action and to vow to strive toward equity for all. Here are some ideas for all of us to become involved: Earth Day is April 22. Now is the time for the courage to preserve and protect our health, our families, and our livelihoods. Together we must invest in our planet. For information google Earth Day, 2022. Yom Hashoah commemoration with the other South Shore Temples will be held on April 27. Information is forthcoming.
In part due to Covid 19 and increased isolation, various types of emotional/anxiety/mental health issues have become evident! McLean Hospital in Belmont recognizes the need for reliable and helpful mental health resources.
As such, the hospital is offering FREE virtual, webinars on obsessions about trauma, self-reliance, teen anxiety and mental health, and more. Upcoming topics include: Teen Depression, Anxiety and OCD in Children, Talking to a Child about Mental Illness, support for parents and MORE. And of course there are resources for adults as well.
For further information contact: mcleanhospital.org Additionally we have been in contact with CAASA (Canton Alliance for Alcohol and Substance Abuse). In the near future, we will be holding a program with a speaker(S) from this organization. Watch for details.
Passover begins the evening of Friday, April 15th. " Jew Belong " offers two ideas you might want to include in your Seder: They are: Peace Olives for Ukraine (inspired by the olive branch that signified peace in the story of Noah’s ark), and the modern-day Ten Plagues of Antisemitism, which are accompanied by Seder Coffee to wake us up.
On another subject....... The SA committee will be writing postcards to help disenfranchised voters in North Carolina. Watch for details on how you can help. All interested congregants are welcome.

Intergenerational Transmission of Trauma: The Holocaust and Its Psychological Impact on Subsequent Generations
Sunday, April 3, 2022, 7-8:30 pm With Carol Laibson, LICSW Zoom Link
How does trauma from a parent get transmitted to a child? How does trauma from one generation get passed down to the next generation? What impact does this trauma have on subsequent generations?
Carol Laibson, LICSW, is the clinical manager of Schechter Holocaust Services, a program of Jewish Family & Children’s Service of Greater Boston. The child of a Holocaust survivor and an expert in the field of gerontology, her work focuses on mental health, dementia, and trauma among older adults. She will help us understand the impact of the Holocaust on current generations of Jewish people, and how we can cope with the often-hidden impact.

Minyan List for the Week
Congregants commemorating a yahrzeit may wish to honor that event by leading some portion of the evening’s service. It might be as small as leading a prayer or could be leading all of Mincha or Ma’ariv. If you are interested in taking this honor feel free to call Joe Doniger at 781-910-7601 or email us at MinyanRangers@bnaitikvahma.org at least two days in advance, and we’ll help make arrangements with that night’s minyan leader. Due to the pandemic, as many people are observing a virtual Shiva week, if you inform the leader, a third Mourners' Kaddish will be included as is done in a shiva house.
