Religious School
Religious School Students Experience Exodus At the Seder we read: "In every generation a person must regard himself as though he personally had gone out of Egypt.” The students of our Religious School had that experience this week as they participated in an interactive, hands-on program that replicated the Exodus from Egypt.
The children considered what they needed to bring with them, took jewelry from their Egyptian neighbors, filled bags with matzo and water, and followed God’s lead as they left Egypt, traversed the desert and crossed the Sea of Reeds. This was a true multi-generational program, led by Rabbi Feld, Joe Doniger and Noah Beit-Aharon, with assistance from teachers, parents and younger siblings. Special thanks to Debbie Gladstone who planned the program, wrote the script and created the props.

POSTPONED: DATE TO BE DETERMINED Social Action/Social Justice & JALSA: Jew-pardy Sunday, April 14, 3 pm Judaism & Social Action Trivia (“Jew-pardy”): Do you like Jeopardy and Jewish-themed prizes? This one-of-a-kind program focuses on the storied history of Jewish advocacy in the United States and connects that history with contemporary social issues and actions.
We will also be writing postcards that day as explained below: Location Shield Act: Every day, companies buy and sell detailed location data from apps on our cellphones, revealing where we live, work, seek health care, and more. Anyone can buy this data – anti-abortion extremists, domestic abusers, foreign governments, employers – and use it to harm us. To protect our privacy, safety, and access to essential health care, Massachusetts needs to ban this practice now. Join JALSA and a coalition of organizations from across the state to urge your state lawmakers to prioritize the passage of the Location Shield Act.
Join us for a fun filled and informative afternoon of laughter, learning, leisurely writing cards, and light refreshments.
Monday, April 15, 8 pm The Circus Train by Amita Parik Brilliant and curious, Lena yearns for the real-world magic of science and medicine, despite the limitations of her wheelchair. Her life during World War II takes a turn when she rescues an orphan with his own secrets and a mysterious past.

Looking for a few good men and women to support our Second Night Community Seder on April 23rd. I am in need of a co-chairperson to be my partner in crime. We will have a few meetings in the next three weeks to discuss event logistics, timing, creative ideas for new and different things to add to our evening. TIME TO REMOVE THE HAMETZ! It is customary to appoint our Rabbi to sell one's hametz for the duration of the Passover holiday. To fulfill this mitzvah, please either fill out the online form above or download a PDF form, which you can mail or bring to the office.
It is also customary to make a gift to the Rabbi's Discretionary Fund. Both the form and donation may be done online or printed and brought/mailed to the office. The deadline is Friday, April 19, 2024

“Don’t Passover the VOTE!” Join us on Sunday, April 28, 1 pm for the “Every Voice, Every Vote” postcard writing campaign. The program is nonpartisan and will target important states outside of Massachusetts. This program is being sponsored by B’nai Tikvah's Social Action/Social Justice and Adult Education committees and Temple Beth David's Adult Committee. Caleb Greitzer, one of our Religious School Students is doing a service project in preparation for his becoming a Bar Mitzvah. He created a t-shirt honoring the special people in his life who have or are currently battling cancer & is donating the proceeds to the American Cancer Society.
