Social Action/Social Justice
Sunday, Jan 14, 10 am Since October 7th, tens of thousands of IDF soldiers and reservists have been on the front lines in Israel, facing unprecedented terror. They are fighting to preserve Israel, bring the hostages home, and eventually provide secure borders & peace.
Join the Social Action/Social Justice committee and write letters of encouragement and care to these brave soldiers. Cards and sample verbiage will be provided. We will collect the cards and send them to the FIDF (Friends of the IDF) office in New York. They will send the cards to Israel, thus ensuring their safe delivery.
Do a mitzvah and shmooze with other members of the B'nai Tikvah community. For further information, please contact: Phyl Hewson or Linda Leland Social Action/Social Justice Co-Chairs
Sunday, Jan 14, 11 am Join in to make kugels and desserts to prepare for our weekly Shabbat kiddushes. Bring your kitchen skills and an apron. Have some easy, tasty recipes to share? Contact: Janice Halpern, president@bnaitikvahma.org or 781-784-3839 to rsvp or share ideas.

The portrayal of Israel as a colonizer and oppressor in K-12 and college classrooms is contributing to the rise of antisemitism. Recent polls highlight a concerning decline in sympathy among American youth towards Israel. Even Ivy League school presidents, when questioned by Congress, have hesitated to classify calls for the genocide of Jews as "harassment." In this critical moment, informed action is crucial.
Join us for an educational and interactive evening with experts from the CAMERA Education Institute. Together, let's explore strategies to counter these troubling trends.
