Israel Appeal
ISRAEL APPEAL - AM YISRAEL CHAI 5784
Our Israel Appeal this year will focus on non-profit organizations in Israel that provide important services. In recognition of current political realities in Israel, this focus can be in addition to, or in place of, support for Israel Bonds. Apart from politics, it is important that we express solidarity with the people of Israel.
This week we focus on two important organizations involved in hunger relief in Israel. We encourage you to explore these organizations’ websites to learn more about their important work.
Leket Israel: In the area of hunger relief, Leket Israel has the unique role of rescuing surplus healthy food and making it available to those in need.
Mazon-Israel:Mazon Israel works on policy advocacy for coordinated responses to assure hunger relief in Israel. Bonus:Each week leading to the High Holidays we are including a fun and free resource for increasing our Hebrew skills. This week’s site is Pealim. You can find the meanings and all forms of many Hebrew words. For example, did you know that the root ס-פ-ר can be used to form the Hebrew words for “book,” “story,” “number,” “library,” “haircut,” and “scissors”? It’s worth checking out! לְהִתְרָאוֹת! See you soon! Questions? ContactMarvin Wolfert
