Our Friday night service begins at 6:00 p.m. and concludes around 7:00 p.m. Join us on ZOOM and log in early to say hello. Our service includes Candle lighting, blessing one another, kiddush, motzei and angel cards as we prepare to move from the work week to Shabbat as a day of rest and reflection.
Reb Josh will lead the davening and I will offer our teaching. The month of Nisan has begun and our thoughts turn to spring and our festival of rebirth, Passover. Tonight I will share texts on the appreciation of the world around us, and how our experience together can enhance those feelings. The theme of rebirth and hope at springtime is central to the Holiday and we will think together about how to bring this up at our seders.
As we continue to hold in-person services in the Sanctuary, we advise wearing a mask and making sure you are current in your booster shots. If you are feeling sick, please stay at home, we will miss you.

Reb Josh will be leading the davening and I will be teaching. With the seders coming up, I will share some texts, ancient and modern, that you might bring to your seder table as conversation starters. Marvin Wolfert will read torah and Debbie Gladstone will chant the haftorah.

Getting Ready For Passover
Hametz sale and Feast of Freedom Haggadot
Many Jews practice the custom of appointing their rabbi to sell their Hametz for the duration of Passover, and B’nai Tikvah is proud to uphold this tradition. If you wish to sell your Hametz, please either fill out the online form or download a PDF form. It is also customary to make a gift to the Rabbi's Discretionary Fund in gratitude. Both the form and donation may be completed online or printed and brought/mailed to the office. The deadline is April 4th.
We also have 35 copies of the Feast of Freedom Haggadah available in the office. Take as many as you need, first come, first serve.
Community Family Seder
B'nai Tikvah will be hosting a Community Family Seder for the second night of Passover. During the service, our clergy will bring informative, interesting, nuanced teachings to enhance the experience for all. Please join us the evening of April 6th as we celebrate together with our friends, their extended family and other community members. All are welcome! Early Bird Pricing ends March 26! REGISTER NOW for a discounted rate!
Lunch & Learn:
Final Session this Wednesday at noon
My Winter/Spring lunch and learn concludes this week on Wednesday at noon by ZOOM. New students are always welcome.
In preparation for Passover, we have been studying tractate Hagigah of the Mishnah, concluding that study with the service for the fast of the first born on April 5 at 8:00 a.m. Tractate Hagigah has fascinating material about censorship in teaching, the value of metaphysics in philosophy, and the most central laws of the Torah.
