We are resuming in person (hybrid) services once a month. This week we will be in the Sanctuary for a lively musical service led by Reb Lisa Feld and Reb Josh Schreiber.
Our Friday night service begins at 6:00 p.m. and concludes around 7:00 p.m. Join us for song and study. An oneg shabbat (refreshments) follows our service.
Two Masculine Role Models: Joseph and Judah Maccabee
This Shabbat Reb Josh leads the davening and Reb Lisa will read torah and haftorah. In our study, I will share texts on Joseph’s masculinity and his response to Potiphar’s wife’s attempt to seduce him. What does that story say about Jewish men? Why did Joseph reject her? Do Joseph and Judah Maccabee represent competing models for Jewish men?
Davening in the sanctuary begins at 10:00 a.m. and concludes around noon with kiddush luncheon. Join us for conversation, study and fellowship, or join us online.
Lunch & Learn: Texts on Community Building
My Winter lunch and learn continues this Tuesday at noon. PLEASE NOTE:In January the class moves to Wednesdays at noon. New students are always welcome. In coming months we will explore texts on the building of community. What did the early rabbis teach about creating intimate Jewish communities in which the individual is nurtured and the communal is sustained. Class will be on Zoom.
