Mahzor / Annual Holiday Appeal
Did you borrow a Mahzor? Please make sure you return the prayer book(s) back to the office to ensure that it’s checked in.
Also, remember to turn in your annual high holy day appeal and your Count Me In! volunteer form at the same time.
Thanks to everyone who participated in the High Holiday Food Drive! Eighty + bags were collected! Half the bags were delivered to the Randolph Food Pantry. Half were delivered to the Canton Food Pantry.
In partnership with Sisterhood, our next program will take place on October 17th, 6 pm at the temple and on ZOOM (6:15 pm). We will have a speaker from Sharsheret. Sharsheret provides an extensive one on one support system to those facing breast or ovarian cancer. They also provide resources to address financial assistance, the role genetics play in certain types of cancer, and counseling for both women and men. Becky Rabson, a "survivor" will be our in-person guest speaker. Her talk will be followed by a question and answer period. the showing of a short Sharsheret video, minyan, then desserts. All are welcome.
Then on October 22, B'nai Tikvah will participate in the interfaith Mini-Walk for Hunger, 3 mile road race which begins at Temple Beth David, located at 7 Clapboardtree St, Westwood. This is a good opportunity to be part of the community at large, and to get the BT name out to the public as a participating community service organization, as well as a religious entity. Clergy from several groups will be speaking. Monies raised will benefit Project Bread. This will help prevent hunger, remove barriers to finding food access, support a person or family's ability to easily access food. **Virtual participation is also available. ***For further information: Jeff Greenwald
We have also been in touch with JALSA. (Jewish Alliance for Law & Social Action) with whom we have collaborated in the past. They will be presenting a program on Thursday, Nov 30, 7 pm, in the temple. Learn how BT and JALSA will work together for the common good. Save the date and watch for details. Phyl Hewson and Linda Leland, Social Action/Social Justice committee co-chairs.
