Social Action / Social Justice
Tikkun Olam is defined as acts of kindness to repair the world. It is a dedication to the values of justice (tzedek), compassion (chessed) and peace (shalom). It is incumbent upon all of us as Jews to demonstrate these values not only in our B'nai Tikvah community, but in the communities around us. Helping those who are in need, no matter in what capacity, is crucial.
The following is a list of items we will be collecting on Mitzvah Day, May 21: *personal care products for women's shelters * food and towels for an animal shelter * school supplies * eye glasses, cell phones and hearing aids, *etc. In addition there will be fun, in-house activities as well. Further information will be provided as the time draws nearer.
Thank you to those who have donated to B'nai Tikvah! Donations may be made online or sent directly to the office.
