This Coming Shabbat: Support for Ukraine. March 18, 2022
Supporting Ukrainian Refugees
On this shabbat we continue to pray for peace in Ukraine and safety for those who have lost their homes. Many of you have asked how we as individuals and as a community can help. (1) We can be advocates. You could raise your voice on social media and/or by writing to or calling your elected officials to support more action to help address the humanitarian crisis brewing in Ukraine and the surrounding nations who are welcoming refugees. We can donate: There are many options, but I want to highlight two: The Joint Distribution Committeeand Masorti Olami (the world-wide organization of Conservative movement communities).

Shabbat Morning: Parshat Tzav (Etz Hayyim, p. 613)
As the Sanctuary is undergoing a transformation we will be moving our services to the Social Hall and begin seating in the round. Please join us in person and through Zoom and livestream for our services during coming weeks. Our teaching this morning will have a dual focus, on the torah reading with its rules for running the Temple and a Nation with both political and religious leadership. We will also turn towards Passover and think about the weeks between Purim and Passover. What is the special nature of this anticipatory time as we prepare for the spring festival or renewal and new life.
